Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and a great defensive effort that forced McDaniel College into two turnovers in the final seconds helped lift the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team to a 5-4 non-conference win over visiting McDaniel on Thursday, March 17, at UPMC Field.

Down 4-3 late in the fourth quarter, junior
Zach Anderson (Fogelsville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) tied the game with 4:15 left with a shot to the right corner, setting up the late heroics, where senior
Dominick Massaro (Centereach, N.Y./Sachem North) caused a turnover at midfield. Getting the ball back, Massaro found a streaking Hoover, who fired it in.

Andrew Dede (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led the Warriors (3-3 overall) with a goal, three groundballs, and two caused turnovers. Anderson, sophomore

Ryan Farrell (Swedesboro, N.J./Archmere Academy) had four groundballs each, as Hall added two caused turnovers. Sophomore
Christian Spahn (Saltsburg, Pa./The Kiski School) led the team with three caused turnovers and Farrell won six faceoffs.

Max Anderson claimed the first of four game-tying goals with senior
Michael Scarponi (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) credited with the assist midway through the second. Assisted by Massaro, Hines' tied it at two in the third period off a McDaniel (2-4 overall) turnover. The Warriors took theit first lead of the game when Dede scored his first goal of the season in transition with the long pole with 1:55 left in the third, assisted by Hall.

McDaniel took the lead back with two goals in less than a minute early in the fourth period, setting the stage for the comeback.

Patrick Fegan led the Green Terror with an assist, two groundballs, and a caused turnover.

First-year goalkeeper
Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) had 12 saves and four groundballs. Brighton Lorber made 26 saves and picked up two groundballs as well, as Lycoming posted a 53-36 advantage in shots taken in the game.

The Warriors return to the field on Saturday, March 19, when they head to Montclair State for a 12 p.m. start in Montclair, N.J.
