ALTOONA, Pa. – A comeback from down 5-1 at No. 1 doubles by juniors Hannah Seebold (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area) and Emily Wolfgang (Allenwood, Pa./Montgomery Area) turned out to be the difference, as the Lycoming College women's tennis team downed Penn State-Altoona, 5-4, in non-conference action at the Adler Tennis Courts on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
 
Up 2-1 as singles play started, the Warriors were able to clinch the match with wins at No. 3, 5 and No. 4 singles. Sophomore Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) posted a 6-1, 6-1 over Lydia Um at No. 3 and sophomore Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lydia Irvin at No. 5. First-year Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa./Central Columbia) clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Stephanie Swain at No. 4.
 
Seebold and Wolfgang won seven of the last eight games against Mikhaela Merca and Rachel Stricek to post an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and the team of Kelchner and Saar added an 8-2 win over Um and Irvin at No. 2.
 
The Warriors improved to 2-3 overall and the Lions fell to 3-7 overall.
 
The Warriors are back on the court on Friday, Oct. 7, when they host Penn College at 3 p.m. at Brandon Park.
