Allison Butler (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) started a run of seven straight points to help the Lycoming College women's basketball team overcome a fourth-quarter rally from FDU-Florham, 52-47, in MAC Freedom action on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30.

Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) drew a charge, junior
Diana Rantz (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) nailed Lycoming's season-high eighth three of the game with 1:21 left and with 24 seconds left, Dufner hit a pair of free throws to make it, 50-43. FDU-Florham (1-14 overall, 1-7 MAC Freedom) extended the game and fouled the Warriors (5-13 overall, 5-5 MAC Freedom), but couldn't get closer than five in the waning seconds.

Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) posted a career-high 16 points after hitting a career-high five 3-pointers to go with two assists, six rebounds, and two steals. Dufner posted eight points, two assists, and a team-leading 12 rebounds. Butler and sophomore
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) each scored seven points, with Butler tallying three assists and 11 rebounds. Rantz led the team with four assists.

The Devils tied the game at 43 with three minutes remaining in the game after Tamyah Jones posted six unanswered points to cap a 15-3 run that started at the end of the third quarter.

The Warriors kept the lead of at least seven points throughout the third quarter, expanding it to 40-28 after a fastbreak layup from Brought with 45 seconds left.
Wetzel's first 3-pointer kicked off the scoring for the Warriors as they led the Devils through the first half. The Warriors held the Devils to only seven points in the first period, including just three for the first eight minutes while building a 10-3 lead.

Wetzel hit two 3-point shots in less than a minute as the Warriors continued to outscore the Devils heading into the half. Dufner added another five points to the tally as she hit a good layup and a 3-pointer in a 22-second span, followed closely by another layup from Butler. The Warriors entered the half after two scoring opportunities by Lockard and Brought put them up 28-15.

Jones led the Devils in all aspects, scoring 22 points, two assists, and 13 rebounds.

The Warriors return to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 2, as the team travels to King's College for a 6 p.m. MAC Freedom matchup in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
