WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Allison Butler (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area) posted for 11 points to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team, her eighth double-digit game of the season, as the Warriors fell to first-place DeSales University, 69-46, in a MAC Freedom matchup on Saturday, Jan.15, at Lamade Gym.

Butler also posted one assist and six rebounds and was joined by first-years
Megan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) and
Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) with six rebounds apiece. Dufner totaled five points and Wetzel had three with a team-leading three assists.

Junior
Emily Zoscin (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly Area) scored nine points and had two steals, one assist and three rebounds. Sophomore
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) scored for eight points and grabbed four rebounds, hitting two 3-pointers. Sophomore
Mia Rudalavage (Enyon, Pa./Valley View) also chipped in five points.

Maria Newsome of the Bulldogs (9-3 overall, 6-0 MAC) claimed the first points of the game as the Bulldogs took a four-point lead before Zoscin started off the scoring for the Warriors (4-11 overall, 3-3 MAC) with a jumper from the paint and the team's stayed mostly even for most of the first quarter, with a 3-point shot from Brought with 1:09 left giving the Warriors their first lead of the game at 13-12.

A 3-pointer from Amelia Saunders gave the Bulldogs back the lead early in the second quarter before the Warriors tied the game at 15 on a layup by Butler. Another 3-points from Zoscin bumped the Warriors back into the  lead before Saunders tied the game again. Rantz tied it again at 22-22 and the Warriors held the lead until the final seconds of the half when Megan Bealer, daughter of three-time Lycoming football All-American Rick Bealer '91, hit a 3-pointer with a second left on the clock to make it, 28-27, at the break.

The Bulldogs posted 21 points in the third quarter while Warriors put up 10, giving the league leaders a double-digit lead going into the last quarter, where they expanded it to as many as 23 points.

Averi Jordan and Megan Bealer led the Bulldogs, with Jordan scoring 15 points to go with eight rebounds and Bealer hitting 14 points and grabbing a game-high four assists and 16 rebounds.

The Warriors return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 19, for a MAC Freedom matchup against Misericordia University at 6 p.m. in Dallas, Pa.
