WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Joe Bamfo (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) found the back of the net on a perfect cross in the second half to lift the Lycoming College men's soccer to its first win of the 2021 season, 1-0, over the Centennial Conference's Haverford College at UPMC Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4.
Lycoming's lone goal was assisted by first-year Sean Campbell (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville), as he got into the right side of the box to draw the keeper before sending his pass to Bamfo on the left side, where he slid it into the net.
Lycoming was held to three shots in a game marked by tough midfield play.
Haverford College was held to seven shots and three shots on goal, as senior goalkeeper Zack Donoway (Newark, Md./Notre Dame) earned his second shutout of the season.
The Warriors return to play on Wednesday Sept. 8 against Susquehanna at the Battle of the Boot in Selinsgrove, Pa. at 7:30 p.m.
