Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) notched seven to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team, which held Wilson College to a negative hitting percentage in a 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-18) win at Gannett Field House on Tuesday night, Sept. 28.

The Warriors (6-9 overall) snapped a seven-game skid thanks to a defensive effort that scooped up 46 digs and forced 23 Phoenix (0-7 overall) errors, as Wilson hit -.010 in the match.

Megan Starkweather (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) had 15 assists, three kills, two aces and five digs and first-year
Ava Coombs (Suffern, Pa./Suffern) notched six kills and four digs. First-year
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) notched a match-high 18 digs and both first-years
Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and
Camryn Quelet (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) each had seven digs. First-year
Sydney Guethlein (Cincinnati, Ohio/West Clermont) posted two blocks.

The Warriors led wire-to-wire in the first set, extending the lead to nine at 20-11 before closing it at 25-15. Up 12-4 in the second set, the Warriors ended up needing a kill from Santos to tie the set at 24 before Coombs had a kill to close out the 26-24 win. Lycoming won the last seven points of the third set off the serve of Koval to break a tie at 18.

Tia Jones had eight kills, six blocks and three aces to lead the Phoenix, Elizabeth Vuxta had 20 assists and Sierra Hill had 16 digs.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Oct. 2, when they head to Penn State Berks for a tri-match, facing the hosts at 11 a.m. and Rowan at 1 p.m.
