READING, Pa. – First-year
Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) notched a career-high 18 kills to go with eight digs to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team to a 3-2 (14-25, 27-25, 25-11, 14-25, 15-10) win over Penn State Berks to open a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Beaver Gym. The Warriors fell in the second match to Rowan, 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-15).

Bisel notched a huge kill in the fifth set to give Lycoming a 7-5 lead, her third of the set before first-year
Camryn Quelet (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) sent down a kill to make it 9-5. The Lions closed back within a point at 11-10, but kills from junior
Elizabeth Kelson (Denville, N.J./Morris Catholic) and Quelet set up a four-point Warrior run to ice the win.

Bisel also finished with three aces to go with the career high in kills. Quelet added nine kills and nine digs and Kelson posted eight kills and four blocks. First-year
Arianna Santos (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) added six kills and five blocks.

Sophomore
Megan Starkweather (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) notched 40 assists, two aces, eight digs and two blocks, first-year
Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) notched 11 digs and first-year
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) added 23 digs.

Cassie Shoupe posted 14 kills and 17 digs for the Lions and Makenzie Shoop added 13 kills. Julia Ratsham notched 40 assists and Sarah Nichols posted three blocks.

The Warriors (7-10 overall) held the Lions (7-10 overall) to a .088 hitting percentage, as they scooped up 71 digs and blocked eight attacks.

Rowan (13-3 overall) hit .269 in the nightcap to cruise to the sweep, with Brianna Newsom posting 14 kills and Natalie Ogden adding 10 kills and 12 digs.

Kelson hit .333 in the match, notching eight kills and a block and Quelet added seven kills and an ace. Bisel posted two more aces and nine digs and Koval finished with 17 digs. Myers also scooped up nine digs. Starkweather posted 14 aces and seven digs.

Simone Sparano posted 18 digs and Brooke Adams notched 28 assists for the Profs.

The Warriors get back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 6, when they face Delaware Valley University in a MAC Freedom match at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
