Megan Starkweather (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) led the Lycoming College volleyball team with 19 assists, seven digs and a block as it put up a valiant effort, but fell, 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-13), to Misericordia University in MAC Freedom action at the Anderson Sports Center on Wednesday evening, Sept. 22.

Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) notched nine digs and first-year
Ava Coombs (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) led the Warriors (5-6 overall, 1-2 MAC Freedom) with seven kills. First-year
Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) had five kills, two aces and two blocks and junior
Elizabeth Kelson (Denville, N.J./Morris Catholic) had four kills and four blocks.

The Warriors fell behind 21-16 in the first set, but fought back to make it 22-21 before the Cougars won the last three points. The second set had 17 ties and six lead changes before kills from Katie Kraeker and Faith Merritt had kills for the Cougars to clinch the set.

Merritt led the Cougars (5-8 overall, 1-2 MAC Freedom) with 15 kills, Alexa Monro posted five aces, Annika Massa notched 37 assists and Jessica Cleveland and Fiona Pyfer posted 12 digs.

The Warriors get back on the court on Thursday, Sept. 23, when they host Penn St.-Altoona at 7 p.m., in Lamade Gym.
