WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Following two years in minor league baseball and a season with the Appalachian Summer League,
Tim Chiarolanza '11 will return to Lycoming College as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director of Athletics
Mike Clark announced on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Chiarolanza will oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for all 19 varsity teams, overseeing training programs and schedules for all of the varsity teams at the school, while also monitoring athlete workouts along with assistant strength and conditioning coach
Isaac Foust.
An Academic All-American as a kicker with the football team at Lycoming College, Chiarolanza returns to Lycoming after working in strength and conditioning for four years in baseball. Last summer, he worked with the Pulaski River Turtles, part of the Appalachian Summer League, where he organized individualized strength programs for the collegiate summer league baseball team. He spent the 2019-20 seasons working with the Baltimore Orioles organization, specifically the Delmarva Shorebirds and in 2018, he worked with the Orem Owlz in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization.
Chiarolanza also had a successful internship with the University of Pennsylvania Strength & Conditioning department in 2017 while finishing his master's degree, helping implement strength and conditioning sessions for swimming, women's tennis and crew and assisted workouts with several other sports.
Chiarolanza also spent seven years as the head strength and conditioning coach at Transcend Fitness in Newtown, Pa., where he designed, coordinated the speed and agility program, working with local soccer and baseball teams and individual athletes.
Chiarolanza played one season with the Harrisburg Stampede of American Indoor Football, helping the team to the championship game in 2012. Prior to that, he was Lycoming's kicker in 2009-10, earning First Team Academic All-American honors as a senior after leading the team in scoring with 52 points and hitting 8-of-his-10 field goal attempts, including a 23-yard field goal against 13
th-ranked Ithaca with seven seconds left that lifted Lycoming to a 26-24 win.
A certified strength and conditioning specialist, Chiaralanza earned a bachelor of science in business management and marketing from Lycoming College in 2011. He earned a master of science in exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017.
