YORK, Pa. – A stifling defense from the Lycoming College men's soccer team allowed perennial powerhouse York (Pa.) to take just eight shots, but neither team could find the back of the net in a 0-0 double-overtime draw to kick off the 2021 season for both teams at Graham Field on Thursday evening, Sept. 2.

After finding their footing in the first part of the first half, the Warriors controlled the pace and possession for much of the rest of the game, as evidenced by piling up 12 corner kicks while the Spartans notched three.

The edge in corner kicks didn't translate to offense, though, as Lycoming managed just six shots on goal. They did hold York to just one, though, which senior goalkeeper
Zach Donoway (Newark, Md./Snow Hill) caught at his shoulders.

The Spartans had eight shots in the game, their last coming on a header that flew over the net as time expired off the head of Brayden Safley.

Sophomore
Austin Craig (Freeland, Md./Hereford) led the Warriors with three shots.

Keegan Brade stopped six shots in the shutout for the Spartans.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 4, when they host Haverford College at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field.
