HOBOKEN, N.J. – Freshman
Lucas Podvey (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) had seven groundballs and an assist to lead the eighth-seeded Lycoming College men's lacrosse team on Friday, April 30, in the MAC Freedom Championship quarterfinal, but top-seed Stevens Institute of Technology posted a 25-3 win at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.

Podvey led the team with the assist on Lycoming's first goal, as well as causing two turnovers and posting two caused turnovers. Sophomore
Andrew Dede (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) posted four groundballs and caused three turnovers and freshman
Christian Spahn (Saltsburg, Pa./The Kiski School) added four groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Stevens got on the board two minutes into the game, but the Warriors responded a minute later when freshman
Lucas Podvey (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) found senior
Dominick Massaro (Centereach, N.Y./Sachem North) for a score to tie it. The Ducks, however, scored the next 10 goals to take control of the game.

Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) and sophomore
Rory Hines (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) each scored in the second quarter for the Warriors.

Ryan Gebhardt and Michael Burns each led the Ducks with four goals and two assists. Larry Park picked up eight groundballs and Matt Logan caused three turnovers.

In net, sophomore
Sean Sonnie (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) stopped 13 shots and sophomore
Dan Cantafio (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) stopped six, as each saw about one-half of action. Jake Zeyher earned the win for the Ducks, making four saves in the first half.

The Warriors finished the season 1-10. Stevens improved to 10-2 overall and moves on to face the winner of a quarterfinal between DeSales and Delaware Valley slated for Saturday, May 1.
