Warriors fall to No. 16 Mount Union

MOUNT UNION, Ohio – Junior Mo Terry (Severn, Md./Severn) scored 12 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Lycoming College men's basketball team in scoring for the second straight game, but 16th-ranked Mount Union shot 58 percent from the field in a 107-61 win to close the Mount Union Holiday Classic on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 30, at the McPherson Athletic Complex.
 
Sophomore Steven Hamilton (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) posted 10 points and senior Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Concord) also added 10 points and two assists. Sophomore Mavin James (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) added eight points and six rebounds and sophomore Austin Loe (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) notched a career-high eight points to go with four rebounds. Junior Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) posted seven points and seven rebounds.
 
Mount Union (9-1 overall) started the game on a 16-5 run in the game's first six minutes and a 20-8 run in the final five minutes of the half helped the Purple Raiders take a 56-29 lead at the break. A pair of buckets from Logan Hill started the second half, helping Mount Union lead by more than 30 for the last 19 minutes of the game.
 
Ethan Stanislawski led the Purple Raiders with 20 points and six assists and Christian Parker posted 21 points and five rebounds, as six Purple Raiders finished in double figures. Hill posted 14 points and Darrell Newsom, Braedon Poole and Andrew Keller each had 10 points.
 
The Purple Raiders scored 62 points in the paint and added a 23-7 advantage in points from turnovers, finishing the game shooting 42-of-72 (58.3 percent) from the floor. The Warriors shot 35 percent (22-of-62).
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday evening, Dec. 5, when they head to Delaware Valley University for an 8 p.m. MAC Freedom game.
