Warriors fall to Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior Emily Zoscin (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly Area) led the Lycoming College women's basketball team with 19 points as she was 6-of-13 from the field, but Franklin & Marshall College posted a 73-59 victory on Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Mayser Center in the first round of the Terry Green Tip-Off Classic.
 
First-year Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) claimed 10 points, as she finished 4-of-5 from the field to go with six rebounds. Junior Kenzie Reed (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) tied Yoh to lead the Warriors in rebounds with six. Senior Allison Wagner (York, Pa./Central York) and sophomore Allison Butler (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area) each had two assists.
 
The Warriors started out the game scoring first on a Zoscin jumper from outside the paint and continued to hold a lead for much of the first period, ending the first quarter behind by a point, 17-16. Franklin & Marshall led by six at the break, 37-31, and Lycoming was as close as five midway through the third quarter before the Diplomats expanded the lead to 11 at 51-40. A Zoscin jumper cut the lead to nine heading into the fourth, where a 13-2 run helped the Diplomats take a 20-point lead with 4:24 to play. A 3-point shot from junior Diana Rantz (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) cut the differential to 14 at the buzzer.
 
Kenna Williams led the Diplomats with 15 points and was 6-of-9 shooting. Natalie Kolb added 14 points and D'Naisha Bellamy-Greene posted 13 points. Kennedy Wilburn had nine points and eight rebounds.
 
The Warriors return to the court on Sunday, Nov. 14, as they face Haverford College to wrap up Terry Green Tip-Off Classic in Lancaster, Pa., at 1p.m.
