Warriors fall to Lakers

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman goalkeeper Gabriella Haug (Barrington, N.H./Oyster River) made 13 saves in her first collegiate start to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, which fell 19-2, to Oswego on Saturday afternoon, March 7, at UPMC Field.
 
Senior Hailey Kimble (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) opened the scoring for the Warriors (0-3 overall), as she scored with a diving effort in the fifth minute of the game to pull the team within a goal at 2-1.
 
Sophomore Erika Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) added a score with 6:23 left in the game, ending a run 15 straight Oswego goals.
 
Haug stopped 13 shots, 12 in the first half, which helped keep the game close, as Oswego led 11-1 at the break.
 
Senior Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) led the Warriors with three ground balls and a caused turnover and sophomore Emma Lehr (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) posted two draw controls and a caused turnover.
 
Kamryn Sherman led the Lakers (2-2 overall) with two goals and nine assists and Molly Beck posted four goals and five draw controls. Kass Myers also added two goals, two assists and five ground balls. Elianna Sanchez stopped seven shots to earn the win for the Lakers.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, March 11, when they head to Albertus Magnus for a 1 p.m. game.
