Drew Collins (Victor, N.Y./Victor) scored two goals and added an assist and sophomore
Justin Joseph (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) won 15-of-21 faceoffs to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, which scored three goals in each of the first two quarters, but fell to a second-half comeback by Virginia Wesleyan, 11-7, in non-conference action at Birdsong Field on Wednesday evening, March 11.
Freshman

Blake Premo (Massena, N.Y./Massena) and sophomore
Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) added to the Warriors' scoring column in the first half, as Collins led the offense with two goals to give the Warriors a 6-4 lead at the half.
The Warriors (2-4 overall) got on the board first with Hines recording the first goal of the game at the 12:10 mark. After Virginia Wesleyan's Cole Maguire knotted up the score a minute later, Chappell and Premo each added a goal for a 3-1 lead in the first quarter with Premo getting an assist from Collins at the 3:34 mark.
The Marlins (5-1 overall) scored three goals in a little over six minutes to pull ahead in the second quarter before sophomore
Ian Chapman (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) got past the goalie at the 7:27 mark to get momentum back on the Lycoming side. Collins added a man-down goal two minutes later off an assist from Zimmerman and a man-up goal with 1:08 left in the half from the stick of senior
Shain Quigley (Lincoln University, Pa./Oxford).
Virginia Wesleyan controlled the second half with five goals in the third quarter and three in the fourth.
Sophomore
Max Hanson (Prattville, Ala./Bishop Machebeuf) scored at the 5:12 mark of the third quarter, to make it 8-7, but the Marlins scored the last three goals.
Nathan Sheirburn, Jason Thibeault, Greg Gaetano and Joey Rayman each had two goals and an assist to lead Virginia Wesleyan.
Kyle Leeming stopped 18 shots in the win for Virginia Wesleyan and freshman
Cameron Kuzniar (Rochester, N.Y./Rochester) made 14 saves for the Warriors.
The Warriors are next scheduled to visit Brockport on Saturday, March 21, with game time set for 1 p.m.
