LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior
Kaylee Long (Milton, Pa./Milton) became the first Lycoming College women's cross country runner to break the 24-minute mark on a 6K course, breaking her own school-record with a run of 23:57.1 at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday morning, Sept. 21.

The Lock Haven University Invitational featured 41 schools, with representation from all three NCAA divisions.

Long placed 95
th in a field of 404 runners by besting her previous program-record run of 24:01, set during 2016 at the NCAA Mideast Regional.

Freshman
Claire Shaffer (Sayre, Pa./Sayre Area) broke the 30-minute mark in just her second race, finishing second on the team and 312
th overall with a run of 28:01.4. Senior
Amanda Goulden (Warton, N.J./Morris Hills) posted a time of 31:05.2 with freshman
Tamara Hess (Canton, Pa./Canton) coming in behind her with a 31:54.8. Junior
Kayla Nowak (Newtown, Conn.Newtown) ran a career-best 33.05.9 to place 393
rd. Freshman
Kaitlyn Welch (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) placed 400
th with a time of 37:40.6.
Sophomore
Mariah Rovenolt (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) finished in 41:40.1 and junior
Ashley Ramirez (Round Rock, Texas/KIPP Austin) ran a 51:20.0 in their first career races with the Warriors.

Maverick Stenger (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) led the men's team in the 8K race by surpassing his career-best run by two minutes with a time of 30:25.9, placing 274
th in a field of 373 runners.

Sophomore
Logan Franquet (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) also set a career-best mark, finishing in 32.13, placing 313
th. Sophomore
Diego Pallares (Cicero, Ill./Bulls College Prep) was third on the team with a 33:50.8. Junior
Hunter Jackson (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone Area) continued his consistency, finishing in 34:59.2 and sophomore
Zeb Harshbarger (Reedsville, Pa./Mifflin County) improved in his second race, running a 37:33.6. Freshman
Geo Castillo (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) finished in 39:00.0 and sophomore
Brandon Gates (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) finished in 42:42.0 to round out the top seven.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they head to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Invitational. The women's race kicks off at 1:45 p.m. with the men to follow at 2:30. p.m.
