READING, Pa. – After a tough first-set loss, the Lycoming College volleyball team stormed back to post a 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21) win over Alvernia University on Wednesday night, Sept. 11, at Jack McCloskey Court.

After falling in the first set, 25-22, the Warriors followed with a 25-15 win in the second set. In the third, Lycoming came back from a 7-0 deficit to take a 23-21 lead after a block by freshman
Elizabeth Kelson (Denville, N.J./Morris Catholic) and junior
Emily Konopka (Wrightsville, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) and a kill by junior
Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville).

In the fourth set, the Warriors jumped out to a 17-10 lead before the Golden Wolves responded by rallying to within two points at 22-20. However, Lycoming was able to close out the set, with Kelson notching a kill to end the match.

Senior
Elle Jednorski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) led the Warriors with 13 kills, hitting .360, five digs and three blocks and Titus added 11 kills, four aces and six digs. Kelso posted six kills and had a hand in eight of the team's 12 blocks. Senior
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) posted 29 assists and seven digs and senior
Lindsay Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown Community) had 12 digs. Konopka also added five kills and five blocks.
Alvernia was led by 14 kills from Mikala Persky, 11 kills and nine digs from Olivia Frutiger and 10 kills and three blocks from Paige Stern. Gabrielle DeLucca posted 17 digs and Alexis Schwenk had 20 assists.
The Warriors improved to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Commonwealth and Alvernia fell to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.

The Warriors get back on the court at the Kean Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13, when they face Kean at 8 p.m.
