Â
With the Warriors (4-11 overall, 2-5 MAC Commonwealth) playing a man-down with 2:22 remaining, Alvernia was able to fire off four shots, but the Lycoming defense stood their ground and ran out the remainder of the clock following a ground ball pick up by senior
Kim Rutherford (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area).
Â
Kimble scored five goals on a game-high 12 shots and picked up a ground ball. Sophomore
Cecilia Massey (Middletown, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) notched a hat trick, picked up a ground ball and caused two turnovers. Senior

Â
The Warriors were a perfect 9-for-9 in clear attempts and outshot the Golden Wolves, 40-32.
Â
The Golden Wolves scored four straight goals to earn their largest lead of the night, 5-1, early in the first half before the Warriors countered with a 5-0 run with goals coming from Lehr, Kimble, Massey and two from McGinniss to take their first lead, 6-5.
Â
Massey scored on a free position shot to end a 2-0 Alvernia run and knot the game back at seven. The teams continued to exchange blows, as Kimble and Peti connected on their second goals of the night to counter two Alvernia goals and head to the break tied at nine.
