OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Junior
Madison Brown (McElhattan, Pa./Central Mountain) became the 16th Lycoming College softball player to reach 100 career hits to highlight Tuesday afternoon, April 23, for Lycoming, but Stevenson University posted a pair of one-run wins, 2-1 and 6-5, in MAC Commonwealth action at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.

Junior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) capped off a five-run fifth inning with a two-run homer to lead the Warriors back from a four-run deficit, but Stevenson tied the game in the bottom of the inning and scored in the ninth to capture a 6-5 victory in the back half of the doubleheader.Â

The Warriors (18-14 overall, 5-9 MAC Commonwealth) threatened to take the lead in the ninth when Brown singled, senior
Liz Nace (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) reached on an error and Kline walked, but a fly out ended the threat.

The Mustangs (14-19 overall, 6-10 MAC Commonwealth) scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth when Haley Lennon tripled down the left field line and came around to score on an Erin Stephey single.

Sophomore
Taylor Gessner (Lewisburg, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian) finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, while Kline knocked in two runs, going 1-for-3 with a home run and run scored. Freshman
Morgan Christine (Reigelsville, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), junior
Darci Warriner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro), freshmen
Isabella Gackenbach (Easton, Pa./Easton) and
Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) also added singles.

Erin Stephey led the way for the Mustangs on offense, as she was responsible for all six runs, scoring one and knocking in five on two hits, including a grand slam.

Freshman
Mikayla Aldenderfer (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) (10-7) took the loss, throwing 8 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits. She racked up four strikeouts.

Morghan Fulton earned the win for Stevenson, throwing three scoreless innings in relief, surrendering two hits and striking out one.

Stevenson took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the third off Stephey's grand slam. The Warriors rallied in the the fifth, as Christine kicked off the surge with a single to center. Senior
Rachel Duda (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) and Brown reached on back-to-back errors, allowing freshman pinch-runner
Angie King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood) to score the first run. Gessner drove a one-out single through the right side to score Brown and Duda and Kline capped off the rally with a two-run blast over the left field wall for her fourth home run of the season.

The Mustangs answered with an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth to knot the game at five and send the game into extra innings.

In game one, Stevenson struck for runs in the first and fifth to lead a pitchers' duel, 2-0, heading into the top of the sixth inning.

Lycoming cut the lead in half, as Gessner reached on a fielder's choice after a Nace single, and moved up to second after Kline reached on an infield hit. Gessner came around to score on an error.

Morghan Fulton allowed one run on five hits and struck out five in the complete game win. Nace (8-7) pitched six innings, allowing two unearned runs and seven hits. She struck out one.

Kline led four Warriors to find the hit column, going 2-for-3. Gessner doubled and scored a run, while Nace and Klosko each singled.

Erin Muir drove in a run and went 3-for-3 to lead Stevenson's offense.

The Warriors are back in action for their final non-conference doubleheader at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, when they head to King's (Pa.).Â
