Sam Lamport (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) picked up victories in both singles and doubles to lead the Lycoming College men's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Hood College in MAC Commonwealth action on Thursday, April 18, at Bruce Henry Park.
Lamport defeated Simon El Rayah, 8-2, at No. 4 singles and teamed up with senior
Nick Meek (Twinsburg, Ohio/Benedictine) at No. 2 doubles to take down Dom Spinuzza and El Rayah, 8-4.
Junior
Mitch Wheary (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) defeated Ben DeLeo, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and sophomore
Felix Mahon (Les Avenieres, France) outlasted Jordan Hahn, 7-6, 2-7, 6-2 at No. 2. Junior
Spencer Pederson (Poolesville, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) posted a 6-0, 6-3 win over Oluwatobi Aroloye at No. 5 to round out the four singles wins.
Lycoming improves to 3-10 overall and 1-2 in the MAC Commonwealth, while Hood falls to 0-8 and 0-5 in the conference.
The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday, April 23, at 3 p.m., when they head to Lebanon Valley College for a MAC Commonwealth match at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
