CHESTER Pa. – Senior
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and junior
Hailey Kimble (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) each finished with a hat trick, but the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team fell to Widener University, 24-9, in a MAC Commonwealth contest on Saturday, March 30, at Edith R. Dixon Field.

McGinniss notched three or more goals for the 10
th straight game, while also picking up three ground balls, causing two turnovers and winning seven draw controls. Kimble won two draw controls to go along with her three goals, while taking a team-high six shots. Freshman
Emma Lehr (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) tied a career high by netting two goals and sophomore
Cecilia Massey (Middletown, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) added a score.

The Warriors (2-8 overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) cut into the Pride's (4-6 overall, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) two-goal lead with McGinniss' first score with 25:45 to go in the first half. The Pride struck again just seconds later but Massey answered with her eighth goal of the season to keep the Warriors within one with 25 minutes remaining.

Widener used a 7-0 run over the next 10 minutes to build a 10-2 lead, though, and Widener sandwiched an 11-1 run in between the halves to put the game out of reach. Lehr and Kimble each scored twice to lead the Warriors in the second half.

Freshman
Jordyn Altland (Hanover, Pa./South Western) made four saves in the first 30 minutes of action before being relieved by sophomore
Bailey Parchesky (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post), who made three saves in the second half.

Katie Hayes earned the win in goal for the pride, while making five saves. Maddie Medve made three saves in the second half.

Melanie Bert led the pride with seven goals and Kelly Lynch had a game-high five assists to go along with five goals. Amber Bretz won a game-high 13 draw controls.

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, April 3, at 4:30 p.m. when they host MAC Commonwealth opponent Albright College at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
