Warriors fall to Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – Junior Hailey Kimble (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) and senior Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) combined to score nine goals, but the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team fell to Misericordia University, 20-9, in a non-conference game on Wednesday, March 27, at Mangelsdorf Field.

McGinniss netted five goals, picked up two ground balls and won 12 draw controls. Kimble scored a season-high four goals on seven shots and junior Alexis Tchou (Mount Airy, Md./Urbana) had an assist.

The Warriors (2-7 overall) jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to back-to-back goals from McGinniss in the first 5:24. Misericordia (4-5 overall) responded with four unanswered to take a 4-2 lead with 19:52 left in the half.

McGinniss notched her third goal to cut the lead to one at the 14:36 mark. However, Misercorida closed out the period on a 9-2 run, with the two Warrior goals coming from Kimble.

Kimble and McGinniss each added two scores in the second half.

Amy Roth led Misericordia with five goals and three assists and Kayla Quinlivan added four goals and an assist. 

Maggie McGovern earned the win in net for the Cougars, racking up eight saves before being relieved by Erika DeSantis who added a save. Freshman Jordyn Altland (Hanover, Pa./South Western) finished with eight saves for the Warriors.

The Warriors are back on action on Saturday, March 30 when they head to Widener University at 1 p.m. for a MAC Commonwealth contest at Edith R. Dixon Field.
