WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman
Mikayla Aldenderfer (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) tossed her third shutout of the season in game one and picked up her first save in game two to lead the Lycoming College softball team to a non-conference sweep of Elmira College, winning 8-0 in five innings, before taking the nightcap, 3-1, on Wednesday, March 20 at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
Â
Reigning MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week, Aldenderfer (6-1), threw five complete innings, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out six in the first game of the doubleheader. Senior

Madison Brown (McElhattan, Pa./Central Mountain) and Nace singled and
moved up a base after a groundball by sophomore
Taylor Gessner (Lewisburg, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian). A single from junior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) and a Elmira throwing error scored Brown and Nace.
Â
The Warriors broke things open in the bottom of the fourth, bringing nine batters to the plate to tack on six runs to gain an 8-0 advantage. Freshman
Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) doubled and was pinch ran for by freshman
Angie King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood), who was driven in by a single from senior
Lexie Kovin (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury). Senior

Darci Warriner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) followed with a pair of two RBI singles to round out the scoring.
Â
A leadoff single in the fifth broke a span of 12 straight Elmira hitters retired, but that was all the Eagles manufactured as Aldenderfer recorded the final three outs.
Â
Seven Warrior players recorded a hit, led by Brown and Kovin, who each finished 2-for-2. Warriner and Gessner each knocked in a pair of runs, while Kline and Kovin added a RBI.
Â
Game two was a pitchers duel, as both teams were held scoreless through the first four innings. The Warriors struck first in the fifth to take a 1-0 lead. Klosko led off with a single and was pinch ran for by King, who later scored on a single from freshman
Kacee Reitz (Milton, Pa./Milton Area).
Â
Elmira scored their lone run in the top of the sixth, but the Warriors immediately answered with two runs to regain the lead. Singles by Nace and Kline sandwiched a sacrifice bunt from Gessner, setting up first and third with one out. Klosko and Kovin each reached on Elmira errors, which scored Kline and Nace.
Â
Nace allowed a double to lead off the seventh, but Aldenderfer retired the final three batters to earn the save.
Â
Reitz was 1-for-2 with an RBI and Kline added a single to extend her hitting streak to 17 games. Nace, Klosko and Duda also added hits.
Â
