DOVER, Del. – Entering the game needing four goals to set a school record, senior
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) posted six to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team to its first win of the season, 20-6, against Wesley College on Thursday evening, March 14, at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

McGinniss finished with six goals, an assist and 17 draw controls to lead the Warriors (1-5 overall), as she broke the school record of 233 goals set by Meghan Wallenhorst '07. McGinniss tied the mark with 9:41 left in the first half off a dish from junior
Alexis Tchou (Mount Airy, Md./Urbana) and broke the record just 1:51 into the second half off a pass from behind the net by freshman
Erika Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen).

Senior
Thamina Peti (York, Pa./West York) notched three goals, an assist and two caused turnovers and freshman
Emma Lehr (Danville, Pa./Danville), senior
Kim Rutherford (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area), junior
Natalie Schroeder (Edgewater, Md./Annapolis), sophomore
Cecilia Massey (Middletown, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) and Boyer each adding two goals. Boyer notched three assists, along with Massey and both Massey and Tchou each had three caused turnovers.

Lycoming jumped out with the first six goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, with McGinniss leading the way with two goals and Massey adding a goal and an assist. The quick start continued over the next 10 minutes, with Lycoming scoring five more goals to make it 11-2 after both Peti and Lehr scored their second goals of the game and finished the half with a 14-3 lead.

The Warriors never let the running clock that comes with a 10-goal lead stop in the second half, scoring the first three goals of the period.

Lycoming dominated most categories on the stat sheet, holding a 34-12 advantage in shots, 16-14 in groundballs and 15-11 in caused turnovers.

Paige Brehm led the Wolverines with three goals and Fallon Fore posted two goals and two assists.

Freshman
Jordyn Altland (Hanover, Pa./South Western) notched three saves to earn her first career win for Lycoming. Wesley keeper Maria Rowland posted eight saves.

The Warriors get back on the field on Sunday, March 17, when they head to Marymount (Va.) for a 12 p.m. game.
