NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Back-to-back one-run pitching performances and a three-run homerun from junior
Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) led the Lycoming College softball team to their third sweep in a row at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex, beating SUNY Poly, 8-1, in the morning and Fitchburg State, 3-1, in the afternoon on Thursday, March 14.

Mikayla Aldenderfer (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) (4-0) earned her fourth straight victory of the season against Fitchburg State, throwing seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out five. Senior
Liz Nace (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) (2-0) defeated SUNY Poly, throwing seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven.

The Warriors (6-0 overall) were held scoreless through four and trailed Fitchburg State by a run in the top of the fifth inning. Singles by junior
Madison Brown (McElhattan, Pa./Central Mountain) and Nace were sandwiched between two outs, bringing Kline to the plate with runners on second and third. Kline sent a 2-2 pitch over the left field wall to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead.

Aldenderfer retired the next nine consecutive hitters to put the game away. After allowing one run in the first, the freshman allowed just one hit and struck out five Fitchburg hitters over the final six innings.Â

Mckenzie Lambert was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Fitchburg State.

In game two, the Warriors trailed 1-0 before exploding for four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. Reitz started the rally with a walk, followed by a fielder's choice by Brown and a walk by Nace to get runners on first and second with one out. Gessner moved both runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt, setting up RBI singles by Kline and Warriner. Freshmen
Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and
Isabella Gackenbach (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) kept the trend going with consecutive singles to score Kline and Warriner.

Lycoming scored again in the fifth after Warriner reached on a deep double to centerfield before coming around to score off a Klosko groundout.

The Warriors used a big sixth inning to extend their lead to 8-1 heading into the final frame. Freshman
Morgan Christine (Reigelsville, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) led off with a pinch-hit single, followed by a double from Brown and a RBI single by Nace. Kline notched RBI number two and three of the game with another single up the middle to round out the scoring.

Nace (2-0) surrendered one run on three hits in the first inning, before settling in to pitch six scoreless, allowing one hit and striking out seven.

Kline was 2-for-4 with three RBI and Klosko finished 1-for-4 with two RBI. Brown notched her fourth game with multiple runs scored, crossing home twice and adding a double. Klosko and Gackenbach each added a hit, with Klosko knocking in two runs and Gackenbach scoring one.

Bailey Wood was 2-for-3 and Kali Maggiolino had an RBI for SUNY Poly.

The Warriors wrap up their spring trip when they take on Albertus Magnus at 9:30 a.m. and Greenville at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex.
