WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Ryan Hollis (Centreville, Md./Saints Peters & Paul) notched a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, including a steal and a transition layup with a minute remaining, to send the Lycoming College men's basketball team to overtime, as Lycoming outscored Widener by six in the period to earn a 77-71 victory in MAC Commonwealth action, on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Lamade Gym.
With their second of 10 3-pointers (10-of-33), the Warriors (11-14 overall, 5-11 MAC Commonwealth) broke the program-record for threes in a season, passing the 1999-00 squad's mark of 248, setting the new total at 257.

Nasir Akram (Newark, N.J./La Plata (Md.)) led to a basket from senior
Calvin Chandler (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista), cutting the Pride's lead to two with 1:35 to go. On the
ensuing possession, Hollis stole a pass at the top of the key and connected on a layup with 1:09 on the clock. A pair of defensive stops from both teams closed out regulation, sending the game to overtime.
The Warriors scored the first seven points of the overtime period, led by five from freshman
Matt Ilodigwe (Wilmington, Del./Oxford Area), to lead 70-63 with 1:26 to go. A Widener 3-pointer with 43 seconds on the clock cut the Warrior lead to 72-68. However, that is the closest the game would get, as Lycoming connected on 7-of-8 free-throws down the stretch to close out the contest.
All five Warrior seniors reached the scoring column, led by a game-high 19 points from
Darius James (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) and 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks from Chandler. Seniors
Hiro Yamaki (Sakata, Japan/Sakata East),
Amir Davis (Philidelphia, Pa./Walter D. Palmer) and
Serge Cole (Montgomery, Pa./Montgomery) each added a field goal.
Hollis recorded his second double-double of the season, netting 2-of-3 shots from three, 4-of-4 at the foul line and forcing two steals. Akram was 4-of-5 from the field, totaling 11 points and seven rebounds. Ilodigwe knocked down 3-of-7 shots from three for 11 points and sophomore
Darius Dangerfield (Abingdon, Md./Harford Tech) tallied four points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.
After trailing 35-29 at the half, Widener started the second period on a 10-2 run to tie the game at 39 with 17:02 to go. Lycoming regained the lead following a three from Hollis on the ensuing possession and held on for the next five minutes before a Widener layup knotted the game at 44 with 12:16 to go. The Pride went on a 6-0 run over the next two minutes to earn their largest lead of the night, 51-44, at the half-way point in the second half. Widener remained in the lead over the next eight minutes, before Chandler and Hollis led the Warriors on a 4-0 run to send the game into overtime.
The Warriors held Widener to 31 percent (22-72) from the field, forcing nine steals and a rejecting a season-high 10 shots.
Lycoming scored the first basket of the game, coming off a 3-pointer from Cole, just over a minute into the game. Widener countered with a 7-0 run to lead 7-3 with 16:22 to go.
The Warriors next three baskets came from behind the arc, helping them regain the lead, 12-10 with 13:41 left. The Pride remained within a score over the next five minutes, getting as close as 24-23, following a 3-point play with 6:03 to go. The Warriors responded to earn their largest lead of the half, 31-23, thanks to a free throw from Akram, and two consecutive 3-pointers from Hollis and Ilodigwe and headed into the break with a 35-29 advantage.
Kenny Lewis led Widener with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Connor Laverty added a 19 points and five rebounds.
