Warriors look for tournament title at Rose City Classic

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Shooting 54 percent in the second half, the Lycoming College women's basketball team surged past Bates in the season opener to earn a spot in the championship game of the Rose City Classic, facing host Drew University on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16, at Baldwin Gym.

The Warriors (1-0 overall) posted a 67-56 win over Bates on Friday night. Three Warriors finished in double figures, led by senior Kayla Kline, who posted 15 points and six rebounds, and senior Akilah McFadden, who added 11 points and six assists. Senior Morgan Mader added 10 points and four rebounds.

The Rangers (2-1 overall) used a fourth-quarter rally to get past Plattsburgh State, 66-59, in their first round match of the Rose City Classic.

• With a win today, the Warriors would win their first regular-season tournament since winning the Hoops for Hounds Tournament at Lycoming on Dec. 29, 2015.

• With 466 career rebounds, senior Kayla Kline needs two more to tie Stephanie Smith (1996-99) for 15th in program history.

• With 915 career points, senior Akilah McFadden needs one more to tie Jennifer Shuler (1995-99) for 12th in program history.
