WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After nearly a month off from MAC Commonwealth competition, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will step back into conference play when it hosts Alvernia University on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
The Warriors (7-8 overall, 1-5 MAC Commonwealth) fell in the Basinger Tournament consolation game to Haverford, 82-64. Senior
Calvin Chandler led a late Warrior comback behind a career-high 24 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore
Darius Dangerfield finished with 18 points and seven assists.
The Golden Wolves dropped a heartbreaker at the buzzer to Stevenson, 67-64, on Jan. 3. Freshman Malik Green led three players in double figures, finishing with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting.
Game Notes
• The Warriors are 12-8 all-time on Jan. 9, including a 79-66 win against Hood in 2016.
• Since joining the MAC Commonwealth, Lycoming (2008, six) and Alvernia (2009, four) have appeared in more conference championship finals than any other teams in the league.
• The Warriors are holding opponents to a conference-low 31 percent on 3-pointers this season.
