READING, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell to Albright, 2-0, in MAC Commonwealth action at Gene L. Shirk Stadium in Reading, Pa., on Saturday evening, Sept. 29.
The Lions (7-1-1 overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board in the 2nd minute when Jill Lapidus popped the ball up-and-over the charging goalkeeper. Kennedy Lutz extended the Lion lead when she fired a shot from 25 yards out over the jumping keeper in the second half.
The Warriors (1-10 overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) came with a strong defensive effort, facing 14 shots. Freshman Elin Johansson (Göteborg, Sweden / Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.)) and Jill Falcon (Miami, Fla./Braddock) each finished with a shot for Lycoming.
Senior Helen Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) finished the game with three saves for the Warriors.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when they head to Keauka Park, N.Y., in a non-conference game against Keuka College, starting at 7 p.m.
