SCRANTON, Pa. – Freshman Wiliana Lundy (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt) pulled out a victory in her first collegiate tennis match to help lift the Lycoming College women's tennis team to 5-4 season-opening victory at Marywood on Thursday evening, Sept. 13.

The Warriors (1-0 overall), who played with just five players, were able to pick up the win with three singles wins and two doubles wins. Junior Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) provided the match's clinching point at No. 1 singles, as she defeated Danielle Ogonowski, 6-4, 6-3, for her 31st career singles win, tying her for sixth in school history with Umanga deSilva (1995-99) and Joy Graeff (1993-97).

The Warriors entered singles play up 2-1 after two doubles wins to start off the match. The duo of senior Brittany Lenze (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) and junior Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) teamed up for a 9-8 (1) victory in No. 1 doubles.  Seniors Allyson Dugan (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) and Kimberleigh Parroccini (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) defeated Deena Haroun Mahdavi and Devin Zombek, 8-5, at No. 2.

In singles play, Lenze defeated Gina Babock, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Lundy defeated Sarah Pagnanelli 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5 in her first career tennis match. Summerson followed with the fifth point, while Marywood (0-1 overall) picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 3, 4 and 6 singles.
