BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior
Even Zewe (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) scored in the first half and junior
Lance Klingler (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) scored in the second, as the 20th-ranked Lycoming College men's soccer team captured a 2-0 victory over Geneva College in non-conference action on Saturday evening, Sept. 1, at Reeves Field.

Three Warriors were able to consecutively head the ball into the air coming off a corner kick from senior captain
Jake Webb (Fairless Hills, Pa./Conwell Egan Catholic) during the 27
th minute of the contest, when Zewe was able to head the ball past the Geneva goalkeeper for his first goal of the season.

The Warriors struck again during the 81
st minute when sophomore
Josh Cruz (Laurel Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) used a free kick from 40 yards out, to find Klingler for his first goal of the season.

Senior
Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) recorded his second shutout of the season and the 13
th of his career tying David Bald (2006-09) for fifth all time in school history. He registered three saves on the night, as he has now recorded 210 scoreless minutes to start the season, marking just the fourth time in the program's 62 years that the Warriors have posted back-to-back shutouts to start the year.

The Warriors were able to control the ball for the majority of the game and held the Golden Tornadoes to just four shots, which included two from Jake Broadwick.

For the second straight game the Warriors were the leaders in corner kicks with seven. Klingler, Zewe, and junior
Jimmy Wilcox (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) lead the team with two shots a piece.

Luke Nolan notched three saves for the Golden Tornadoes.

The Warriors will be back in action on Tuesday Sept. 5 for a 7 p.m. start in Selinsgrove, Pa. for the Battle of the Boot at Susquehanna University.
