SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Facing off a team that made the NCAA Tournament in 2017, the Lycoming College women's soccer team, brimming with 16 freshmen, dropped a 1-0 decision to Susquehanna University on Friday night, Aug. 31, at Sassafras Field.

Helen Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) stopped eight shots in net for the Warriors (0-1 overall), as the River Hawks (1-0 overall) were credited with 22 shots.

The lone goal came in the 49th minute, when Kate Cantrell headed in a give from Emily Lefkowitz.
Freshmen
Alicia Blizzard (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest),
Elin Johansson (Göteborg, Sweden/Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.)) and
Kailey Coelho (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) each had a shot for Lycoming.

The Warriors open their home slate on Saturday, Sept. 1, when they host Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference power Mount Aloysius at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
