WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Down by a goal with 7:20 left, senior
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) ignited the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team with three straight free-position goals in a 2:30 span to put Lycoming in charge as it posted an important 23-19 MAC Commonwealth Senior Day win over Hood College on a sunny Saturday, April 21, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Lazarich finished with seven goals to lead the Warriors (6-9 overall, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth), as she moved within seven points of the school record of 276 set by Megan Wallenhorst '08 with at least one regular season game remaining.

Hood started the second half on a 10-2 run in the period's first 23 minutes, taking a 17-16 lead off a free-position shot by Rachel Slater with 7:20 left. Lazarich, however, dominated the next three minutes, drawing fouls in the arc three times and converting each time, with her last score making it 19-17 with 4:43 left.

Jade Locklear got the Blazers within a goal with 4:06 left, but junior
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph), senior
Caroline Mitchell (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and sophomore
Alexis Tchou (Mount Airy, Md./Urbana) scored in response to put the game away before Lazarich put in a behind-the-back goal with 14 seconds left.

The Warriors jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the game's first 17 minutes thanks to the play of sophomore
Hailey Kimble (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post), who had six first-half goals to lead the Warriors. Hood cut the gap down to five with 1:08 left in the first half, but Lazarich and Kimble scored in the final 35 seconds to get the lead to 14-7 at the break.

Kimble finished with six goals, three assists and a caused turnover and McGinniss added six goals, an assist, 10 draw controls and three ground balls. Mitchell finished with two goals and three assists and sophomore
Kayla DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) posted a goal and four assists to go with four groundballs.

Freshman
Taylor Herberger (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) had three caused turnovers and two groundballs and senior
Jenna Hudson (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) added two caused turnovers and two groundballs. Lazarich picked up nine draw controls.

Kara Phoubandith had six goals and an assist and Rachel Slater notched five goals and two assists to lead the Blazers. Cassidy O'Neill posted four goals and an assist and Jade Locklear finished with three goals, two assists and 14 draw controls.

In net, sophomore
Bailey Parchesky (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) had nine saves to earn the win for the Warriors. Rylie Benoit-Nobis stopped nine shots, as well, for Hood.

The Warriors wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 28, when they head to Arcadia for a 1 p.m. MAC Commonwealth game with a spot in the conference tournament on the line.
