WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) scored on a free-position shot 33 seconds into overtime to cap a seven-goal performance as the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team picked up a dramatic 18-17 MAC Commonwealth win over Widener University on Saturday afternoon, April 14, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The seven goals in a game are tied for the most in McGinniss' career, as she netted four in the first half, two in the second and the game-winner in overtime. Senior
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) reached 260 career points with five goals and an assist, moving her within 16 of all-time points' leader Megan Wallenhorst (2005-08). Sophomore
Kayla DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) tallied three goals and two assists, giving her 40 points on the season.

Widener (4-9 overall, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) fought back from an early five-goal deficit to hold a lead for much of the second half, building its advantage to three with just under six minutes remaining. Freshman
Cecilia Massey (Middletown, Del./Hodgson VoTech) posted her second goal of the year with 5:25 remaining and 14 seconds later, Lazarich scored to get within one at 16-15. Almost three minutes later, Lazarich tied the game and 12 seconds later, sophomore
Hailey Kimble (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) gave the Warriors the lead with 2:23 remaining in regulation. Widener's Kelly Lynch tied the game at 17 with 1:25 remaining, setting up overtime.

The Warriors (5-8 overall, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first five minutes, including three goals from Lazarich. They extended their lead to 6-1 before the game was eight minutes old on DiJoseph's first score. The squads each had their three-goal scoring spurts over the next 10 minutes, before Widener scored four straight to get within a point late in the first half. McGinniss netted a score with seven seconds remaining in the period on a dish from DiJoseph to end the Widener scoring run and give Lycoming a 10-8 lead at the break.

Lynch scored seven goals for Widener, adding two assists. Melanie Bert netted three goal for the Pride.

Sophomore
Bailey Parchesky (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) made eight saves, earning her fourth win of the season and holding Widener to 2-for-9 on free-position opportunities. Katie Hayes made 19 saves for Widener.

Lycoming held a 27-10 draw control advantage and a 42-37 shot advantage. McGinniss (14) and Lazarich (12) combined to win 26 of those draws. McGinniss also picked up six groundballs. Â

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, April 18, when they head to Albright College for a MAC Commonwealth match at 4 p.m.
