Dang lifts Warriors over Lions

READING, Pa – Senior Duc Dang (Winooski, Vt./Winooski) provided the match-clinching point with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win at No 6 singles to lift the Lycoming College men's tennis team to a 5-4 win over MAC Commonwealth foe Albright College on Tuesday afternoon, April 10, at the Albright College Tennis Courts.

Dang picked up his third singles win of the year with his 7-5, 6-4 decision over Brody Brown.

Senior Rob Smith (Middleburg, Pa./Selinsgrove) continued his stellar play with two more wins, as he first teamed up with sophomore Mitch Wheary (Central Mountain, Pa./Lock Haven) at No. 1 doubles to post an 8-5 win. Later, the defending MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week notched his 10th singles win of the year with his 6-4, 6-0 decision. Smith, who is a combined 8-0 in his last four matches, now has 33 career singles wins, tied for third most in program history and he is just the second player in school history to post 10 wins in three straight season.

Senior Alhoun Lundy (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt) also tallied two wins, first winning his No. 3 doubles match with senior Zachary High (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), 8-4, and winning his No. 3 singles match with a 6-0, 7-5 advantage over Dylan Rutt.

Lycoming raised its record to 5-8 overall, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth, while Albright fell to 2-9 overall, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth.
