ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) and junior Andrew Ream (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) posted two goals and an assist to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team against 18th-ranked Ithaca College, but Ithaca used a quick start to post a 17-8 win at Higgins Stadium on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The Warriors (2-1 overall) fired 31 shots in the game and scored eight times against the perennial power, the most for the team against the Bombers (1-0 overall) since 2012.

Sophomores Drew Collins (Victor, N.Y./Victor), Tyler Thompson (Nepean, Ontario/Mother Teresa) and freshman Dominick Massaro (Centereach, N.Y./Sachem North) each also added a goal and an assist.

Ithaca took a 5-0 lead before Thompson scored the Warriors' first goal with 2:08 left in the first quarter. In the second quarter, both Huff and Ream scored to make it 8-3, but the Bombers scored the next four goals to make it a nine-goal margin early in the third quarter.

Sophomore Aidan Kirkendall (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) got a dish from Huff for a man-up goal with 6:10 left and Lycoming and Ithaca split the final 10 goals of the game, with Lycoming outscoring Ithaca, 3-2, in the final 15 minutes.

Junior Alex Artur (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) won nine faceoffs and led the Warriors with eight ground balls and a caused turnover and Thompson also added five ground balls and caused turnover. Junior Cole Masterson (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) posted four ground balls and a caused turnover.

Ithaca took 48 shots, grabbed 50 ground balls and forced 24 turnovers, as it started the game with seven goals in the first quarter.

Ryan Ozsvath led the Bombers with five goals, Josh Della Puca had four goals and an assist and Jake Cotton added three goals. Stephen Morrell, Conner Crosson and Connor Brumfield each had two assists. Steven Landspurg posted nine ground balls and Aaron McCartney finished with six ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Senior Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) stopped 15 shots in 55 minutes of action and freshman Tim O'Connor (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) added three stops in a scoreless five minutes for the Warriors. Robby Atwood stopped 10 shots for the Bombers.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, March 3, when they host the University of Scranton at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. Face-off is set for 1 p.m.
