WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After averaging more than 20 wins in the past four seasons, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will open a new era when first-year head coach Mike McGarvey will blend a group of seven returners with eight newcomers, as it opens its season against Penn State Schuylkill on Friday night, Nov. 9, in the Nationwide Dutch Burch Tip-Off at 6 p.m.

The Warriors have advanced to the MAC Commonwealth Championship four years in a row, winning the title in two of the last three years. The team's top returning scorer is senior Darius James, who averaged 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Penn State Schuylkill is coming off an 8-14 season in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

• The Warriors were picked fifth in the MAC Commonwealth Preseason Coaches' poll.

• The Warriors are 18-1 all-time in Dutch Burch Tip-Off Tournament openers. They have advanced to the championship game in each of the last 10 years.

• First-year head coach Mike McGarvey is the ninth coach in the 71-year history of the program. 

• Senior Darius James is 39 points from reaching 500 in his career.

• Senior Calvin Chandler needs two more rebounds to reach 250 in his career.

• Sophomore Darius Dangerfield is two 3-pointers shy of reaching 30 made in his career and sophomore D'Yante Doughty is one from the mark.

• The Warriors are 14-0 all-time against current members of the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
