WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After notching a win in a hard-fought first set, the Lycoming College volleyball team couldn't hang on against a hot-hitting Arcadia University on Tuesday night, Oct. 9, at Lamade Gym, falling 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-18) in MAC Commonwealth action.

With one conference match remaining, the Warriors (11-14 overall, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth) are in sixth place, one match behind Lebanon Valley and Widener, who each have three matches left. The Knights (17-5 overall, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) are in second place by a match ahead of Messiah.

The Warriors were led by 20 digs from senior
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley), as she moved within 30 kills of the school's all-time digs record of 2,081 set by Emily Abel
(2008-10). Junior
Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) added 11 kills, 10 digs, two aces and two blocks in her third double-double of the season and junior
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) just missed a double-double with 33 assists and nine digs.

Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and sophomore
Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) each had eight kills, with McDevitt also posting three blocks. Sophomore
Elle Jednorski (Forest Hall, Md./Fallston) notched six kills and three blocks.

The Warriors jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first set, posting four kills, two from junior
Katie Hausknecht (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) during the run. Arcadia was able to get within two only three times after that, with Lycoming expanding the lead to five twice. The Knights did close within a point at 24-23 off an ace, but Hausknecht closed out the win with a kill.

Arcadia, however, hit better than .300 in each of the next three sets to win the match.

Lauren Enfield led the Knights with 12 kills, two aces, two blocks and two aces and Lizzie Joseph posted nine kills. Maddie Sehrt had six blocks and Emily Eng notched 23 digs. Julia Paliwodzinski had 41 assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Oct. 13, when they head to Dickinson College for a pair of matches, facing Bryn Mawr at 2 p.m. and Dickinson at 4 p.m.
