th-ranked Lycoming College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory against MAC Commonwealth opponent Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 6, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
The Warriors (10-1-1, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) set up their winning possession when sophomore
Alex Henry (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) drew a foul on the left side, just outside the box. Setting up the free kick with 13 seconds remaining, the Warriors scored with 10 seconds left in regulation when Tueno flew through the air to head in
the ball off a free kick to the far post from senior
Jake Webb (Fairless Hills, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic). The goal was Tueno's second of the year and Webb's team-leading sixth assist.
The Warriors, winners of eight straight, outshot the Mustangs (7-5 overall, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) 24-11, with four of those coming from Tueno and four from Henry.
Senior goalkeeper
Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) picked up his sixth shutout of the year with five saves. Matt Stellitano racked up nine saves for the Mustangs.
The Warriors are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 9, when they host Alvernia University in a 4 p.m. MAC Commonwealth start at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
