Warriors fall to #2 Falcons

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell to second-ranked Messiah College, 7-0, in MAC Commonwealth action at Shoemaker Field on Tuesday night, Oct. 16.

The Falcons (13-1 overall, 5-0 conference) received first-half goals from Jessie Fisher, Julia Kyne, and Sunny Gelnovatch. Brooke Firestone scored twice and Ashley Sauder scored once in the second half.
 
Senior Helen Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) tied her career high with 14 saves.
 
Courtney Dunlop was awarded the win for the Falcons and Lydia Ewing had two saves after relieving her in the second half.
 
The Warriors (1-14 overall, 0-5 conference) are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 20 for a 12 p.m. start when they host MAC Commonwealth opponent Arcadia University, ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, on Senior Day at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. The Warriors will honor Ross and senior Allison Edwards (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) in a ceremony before the game.
