Warriors out for fifth straight win in conference showdown with Albright

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With four straight wins by an average margin of 4.5 points, a battle-tested Lycoming College women's basketball team is set for a showdown with Albright College in a battle for second place in the MAC Commonwealth on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m.

The Warriors (11-3 overall, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 62-55 win over King's, as the team shot 67 percent from the field in the fourth quarter to break away from the Monarchs. Senior Shelby Mueller led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds and sophomore Akilah McFadden added 16 points and six boards.

The Lions (9-5 overall, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 74-59 win over Lebanon Valley, whereseniors Jane Joyce and Alysha Lofton comined for 37 points, 17 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals.

Warrior Notes
• Head coach Christen Ditzler is the fourth person in the athletic department's history to win 300 games in one sport, joining wrestling coaches Roger Crebs (1993-pres., 388) and Budd Whitehill (1956-1993,  374) and men's basketball coach Dutch Burch (1962-94, 318).

• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth with .325 defensive field goal percentage, a .372 3-point field goal percentage and 45.5 rebounds per game.

• Senior Shelby Mueller needs one more made free throw to break the school's career record of 278 set by Annette Weller (1991-96).

• With 13 more rebounds, Mueller will move into a tie for fifth in school history with 633 in a career, where Annette Bieber (1988-92) sits.

• Freshman Erica Lutz's five blocked shots against King's are tied for the sixth most in a single-game in program history and are the most since Kat Andriani swatted six at Arcadia in 2013.
