WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -Â After a bye while the rest of the MAC Commonwealth wrapped up the first half of its conference schedule, the third-place Lycoming College women's basketball team will start the home stretch of its season by hosting Hood College in Lamade Gym on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m.
The Warriors (12-4 overall, 6-2 MAC Commonwealth) sit a game out of first place midway through the conference schedule, in large part because of a balanced offense, which had a season-high five players finish in double figures in the team's last game, a 72-56 win over Arcadia.
The Blazers (5-11 overall, 1-7 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 67-41 loss to Stevenson in its last outing on Wednesday.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors' magic number to clinch a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Championship is six. Any number of Lycoming wins or losses by the sixth-place team (Arcadia and Widener) will lower the number.
• With a win, the Warriors will improve to 13-4 for the first time since 1987-88 and the second time in program history.
• A win would also clinch Lycoming's fifth winning season in a row, which would tie for the longest stretch in school history with the 1993-98 teams.
• Senior
Shelby Mueller is one double-double away from becoming the fourth player in school history to post 20 in a career.
• Sophomore
Morgan Mader is three 3-pointers made shy of becoming the 24th player in school history to hit 30 in a season.
• Junior
Becca Painter is two points shy of reaching her career high of 75 points scored as a freshman in 2015-16.
