SELINSGROVE, Pa. – With a career-best 14 draw controls to go with six goals and an assist, sophomore
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) helped lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team past Susquehanna University, 16-10, at the Sassafras Field on Wednesday afternoon, April 5.

McGinniss' six goals moved her to 99 in her career, one shy of becoming the 14
th player in school history to score 100 in a career, while her 14 draw controls helped her move past junior teammate
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) for third in school history with 185 career draw controls. Lazarich sits fourth with 180 and both will be in a race to break the school record of 225 set by Brooke Strausser (2010-13) as the team heads down the stretch.

Lazarich finished with three goals, two assists and seven draw controls and senior
Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added two goals and two assists. Freshman
Kayla DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) also had two goals.

Lycoming (5-4 overall) dominated the game statistically, holding a 36-20 advantage in shots, 23-5 in draw controls and forced Susquehanna (6-5 overall) into 36 fouls while committing just 16.

The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first nine minutes, with McGinniss scoring to make it 3-0 with 20:51 left before Susquehanna rallied back to within a goal at 3-2. McGinniss scored on a free-position goal with 12:23 left, starting a 4-1 run, where McGinniss scored three goals to give Lycoming a 7-3 lead.

After Susquehanna cut the lead to four at halftime, the Warriors started the second half on a 6-1 run, with DiJoseph and McGinniss each scoring twice, as Lycoming took a 13-5 lead with 9:50 left. The River Hawks cut the lead to six goals three times after that, but that was as close as they could get.

Sophomore
Kim Rutherford (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) caused two turnovers and senior
Victoria Siebecker (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) added two groundballs to lead the defense.

Caroline Rabiecki led the River Hawks with two goals and three assists and Ashley Rose Lynn added two goals and two assists. Shannon Kinney finished with three caused turnovers and two groundballs.

In net, senior
Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) finished with seven saves and a career-best four caused turnovers. Emily Digaetano (1-2) posted 10 saves in the loss for Susquehanna.

The Warriors get back in action on Saturday, April 8, when they step back into MAC Commonwealth action by hosting Arcadia at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
