WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and junior
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) combined for nine goals for the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, but a 10-goal first half helped Stevenson University post a 17-10 win with MAC Commonwealth Championship implications on Tuesday afternoon, April 25, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The win helped Stevenson (9-6 overall, 6-2 MAC Commonwealth) clinch the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, while Lycoming (8-6 overall, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth) is guaranteed a spot in the first-round game on Monday, May 1.

McGinniss once again had a well-rounded game, posting five goals, an assist, five draw controls and two groundballs and Lazarich finished with four goals and four draw controls. Sophomore

Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) and junior
Caroline Mitchell (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) each had an assist for Lycoming.

Lazarich's four goals moved her into a tie for eighth in program history with Sarah Wingerden (2006-08) with 131 career goals.

Stevenson scored the game's first seven goals before Lazarich scored with 16:26 left to get Lycoming on the board, and she added a pair more before the break, but Lycoming still trailed 10-3 at the break. Stevenson added two more goals to open the second half, but Lycoming went on a 5-1 run, paced by four goals from McGinniss to close within 13-8 with 19:15 left.

Lycoming couldn't get closer than five goals, though and Stevenson closed the game with four of the last six goals.

The Mustangs were led by six goals, six draw controls and two assists from Olivia Monteiro and Brady Heher added two goals and three assists. Mackenzie Reese added three goals and an assist. Sarah Roerty finished with seven groundballs and three caused turnovers and Jamie Bittner also had three caused turnovers.

Victoria Siebecker (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) and sophomore
Kim Rutherford (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) each caused two turnovers for the Warriors.

Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) (8-6) finished with seven saves and four groundballs for the Warriors. Mack Ferguson (9-6) stopped five shots for the Mustangs to earn the win.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 29, when they head to Widener University for a 1 p.m. MAC Commonwealth game in the regular-season finale, needing to post a win to earn the No. 4 seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship tournament, which would allow the team to host a first round game on Monday, May 1.
