th-ranked Lycoming College men's basketball pull away from Widener University, posting a 74-63 MAC Commonwealth win on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9, at Lamade Gym.

Chris Wallace (Randallstown, Md./Calvert Hall) hit 9-of-10 free throws as he led the Warriors (9-0 overall, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth) with 13 points and four rebounds. Senior
Alex Newbold (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) totaled 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists as he hit all six of his free throws. Junior
T.J. Duckett (Severna Park, Md./Calvert Hall) added 12 points off the bench with two steals and junior
Darius James (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) had 11 points and seven rebounds as he hit all three of his shots.

The Warriors hit 26-of-30 at the line and 20-of-23 in the second half.

After falling behind by as much as nine late in the first half, the Warriors ended the half on a 16-6 run to take a one-point lead into the break. Lycoming continued its run in the second half when it started out with a 10-2 scoring advantage to take a nine-point lead. The Pride eventually tied the game with 7:49 and 6:32 remaining, but could never take the lead. With the game tied at 57, the Warriors went on an 11-0 spurt, capped by a 3-pointer from sophomore
Damani Myers (Baldwin, N.Y. St. Mary's) with 1:17 left to put the game out of reach.

Lycoming held Widener to just two field goals in the final eight minutes as the Pride hit just 37 percent of its shots in the second half.

The Warriors held a 39-29 rebound advantage and a 26-8 second chance point advantage.

Tyler Drews led Widener with a game-high 25 points while Elijah Boyd and Ryan McMahon each added 10.

The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Dec. 16, as they host York (N.Y.) at 3 p.m. in a non-conference game in the Crosstown Challenge.
