Mueller reaches milestone as Warriors win, 63-45

READING, Pa. – Senior Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) became the 10th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points and the highest-scoring team in the MAC Commonwealth overcame a slow start in the first half to score 42 in the second and cruise past Alvernia University, 63-45, in MAC Commonwealth action at Jack McCloskey Court on Wednesday night, Dec. 6.

Mueller, who reached the mark with a jumper with 2:43 left in the second quarter, finished with game-highs of 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Warriors (6-2 overall, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth), as the team rebounded from a 33 percent first-half shooting performance by shooting 50 percent (15-of-30) in the second. In the fourth, Lycoming continued to stretch the lead, with an old-fashioned 3-point play from sophomore Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) making it 58-37 with 3:16 to go before Alvernia cut the gap by three points over the final moments.
