WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Overcoming an eight-point deficit in the second set, the Lycoming College volleyball team used a run of five straight points to win the set and move on for a 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-16) MAC Commonwealth win over Albright College on Wednesday evening, Oct. 4, at Lamade Gym.

Sophomore
Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the Warriors (9-9 overall, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) with 13 kills and a block and sophomore
Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) notched a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. Freshman
Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) added eight kills and freshman
Emily Konopka (Wrightstown, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) added four kills, two aces and two blocks.

Junior
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) posted 18 digs and an ace and senior
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) finished with 30 assists, five digs and two blocks. Sophomore
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) finished with five assists, three aces and four digs and sophomore
Katie Hausknecht (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) added five kills and a block.

The Warriors used a 14-4 run to open up a 22-12 lead in the first set with Konopka serving up five straight points. Albright (3-15 overall, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) closed the gap with 10 of the next 12 points before Titus lined up a hard-hit kill to clinch the set.

In the second set, Albright jumped out to a 12-4 lead, but Lycoming cut the lead to four points at 17-13 before the Lions took a seven-point lead at 21-14. The Warriors came back, with Konopka serving up three points to close within 22-21. The Lions scored the next two points before Hausknecht spoiled Albright's first set point with a kill. Singleton followed with a kill on the second set point before McDevitt posted a pair of kills and Burger capped the set with a sneak-attack kill from a dig from Morris.

Lycoming jumped out with a  14-6 run in the third set to take an 18-10 lead and were able to cruise to the 25-16 win.

Kellie Hill led the Lions with 10 kills and four blocks and Morgan Puller added nine kills and 12 digs. Paige Westra posted seven kills and two aces, Claudia Guise posted 24 assists and nine digs and Bryana Chambers posted four blocks.

The Warriors get back in action on Friday, Oct. 6, when they open the Lycoming Tip-Off Tournament against Alfred State at 4 p.m. and SUNY Canton at 8 p.m.
