Abdullahi Abdi (Seattle, Wash./James Garfield) helped lift the Lycoming College men's soccer team to its third straight win, 2-1, over Frostburg State on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 20, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Abdi's low liner was set up when junior
Kyle Thomas (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) went up for a header at the edge of the goalbox and drew an elbow with 5:57 remaining. Abdi calmly drilled his third penalty kick of the season to ensure the win.

The Warriors (4-2-2 overall) got on the board first in the 63
rd minute, when junior
Jordan Logan (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) delivered a perfect pass to freshman
Steven Riad (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom), who drove in on a breakaway before beating the goalkeeper with a shot into the left side of the goal.

The Bobcats (3-5 overall) tied the game in the 70
th minute on a penalty kick after a foul in the box, with Kelvin Tata denting the twine to set up the dramatic finish.

The Warriors, who held a 17-8 advantage in shots and 9-3 in corner kicks, pressed forward in the game's waning 20 minutes, taking five shots while not allowing one before drawing the penalty kick. The goal was the team's eighth (of 17) in the final 10 minutes of regulation this year.

Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) (3-1) earned his 20
th career win, making three saves for the Warriors. Hassan Mostafa (3-5) stopped eight shots for the Bobcats.
