Lazarich sets another mark as Warriors down Nittany Lions, 4-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) scored once in each half to set the Lycoming College women's soccer team record for career points, as she helped lift Lycoming post a 4-0 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 17, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The goals give Lazarich 12 goals and an assist for 25 points this season, as she now has 88 in her career, three more than Bekah Shipe (2005-08) accumulated in her career.

The Warriors (4-2-1 overall) got on the board in the fifth minute, as Lycoming cleared the ball out to midfield and a pass found the feet of freshman Mackaella Goodwin (Mount Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional), who dished a quick one-touch through ball for Lazarich, who broke the school-record for career points with a quick dart of a shot under the goalkeeper's left side.

Goodwin got the Warriors another score in the 40th minute, as junior Yasemin Yazici (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) delivered a through ball that Goodwin found and fired a shot into the center of the net from 20 yards out.

Lazarich added another score, her 12th of the season, in the 65th minute, as she played a ball that rebounded off the goalie and delivered a shot into an open net. Lycoming closed the scoring in the 81st minute, as junior Kylie McGonigle (Red Hill, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) got inside the defense in the box after a free kick from senior Amanda Wisolmerski (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park) and finished off with a shot into an open net.

Junior Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) notched nine saves to earn her second shutout of the season for the Warriors, as Penn State Harrisburg (2-4 overall) took 15 shots in the game. Penn State Harrisburg's Daniella Marroquin stopped five shots in the first 75 minutes before Kayla Arnold stopped three shots to complete the game for the Nittany Lions.

The Warriors get back on the field on Sunday, Sept. 18, when they host Alfred State at 12 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
