BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) became the 24
th player in program history to reach 700 career digs, as she scooped up 29 on Friday night, Sept. 16, to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team to a split in its opening day at the Brockport Volleyball Invitational, falling to Mount Union, 3-0, before downing Hilbert, 3-0.

Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) led the Warriors (8-4 overall) with 11 kills, nine digs, three aces and a block against the Hawks (1-5 overall), as Lycoming cruised to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-12) win.

Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) notched seven kills and hit .667, while also adding a block. Both sophomore
Cheyenne Altland (East Berlin, Pa./Delone Catholic) and senior
Kristine Jahn (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each added four kills.

Freshman
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) posted 31 assists, seven digs and an ace and Hepner finished with 17 digs, crossing the 700-dig mark with her eighth scoop of the match.

Amanda Binder led the Hawks with eight kills and Morgan Ott finished with 17 assists, two aces and nine digs. Ashley Repine finished with two blocks and Torianna LeWand finished with five kills and nine digs.

The Warriors hit .230 in the match (35-12-100) while limiting Hilbert to .043 (24-19-116), as the team scooped up 65 digs and allowed just 45.

In the opening match, Mount Union (7-2 overall) played outstanding defensively to sweep Lycoming, 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-12), as it notched 50 digs and seven blocks and held Lycoming to just 20 kills.

McDevitt led the Warriors with five kills and two blocks and senior
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added four kills. Junior
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) notched 12 assists and five digs and sophomore
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) notched 12 digs. Senior
Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United) added eight digs.

Brooke Knollman led the Purple Raiders with six kills. Riley Schenk added 12 assists and six digs and Caitlyn Synek notched four kills and four blocks. Celia Barrett notched five aces and 10 digs.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they face Brockport at 11 a.m. and Medaille at 1 p.m. to close out the Brockport Volleyball Invitational.
